The Iatan power plant is a 1753.9 MW coal-fired power plant located in Platte County, Missouri. The plant began operating in 1980 and consists of two conventional steam coal generators. It is owned by Algonquin Power & Utilities, a Canadian company, and operated by Evergy Metro. The plant's primary fuel source is subbituminous coal (SUB). Iatan ranks as the second-largest of six coal plants in Missouri, and fourteenth-largest of 75 coal plants nationally.
